Purpose. Depth. Diligence.
Purpose. As a consumer and student of the U.S. healthcare system, I work with a vision of reducing health vulnerabilities and protecting caregivers. I am driven to improve prevention and care in the US, and I delight in collaborating with others who strive to do good, not just good enough.
Depth. I am an experienced leader who has collaborated on interdisciplinary teams, managed scientific projects, functions, and sites, and served on non-profit boards developing programs and policies. I have written and presented briefs to Maine’s congressional delegates in D.C. and provided testimony at the statehouse in Augusta. My research experience spans clinical and policy studies, literature reviews, quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and report writing. Concurrently with my MPH studies, I completed the HRSA-funded 300-hour graduate fellowship in care leadership for people with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities, plus courses on big data for social good with Harvard Business School and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Additionally, I bring experience as a mom who had to navigate the care continuum to help two extraordinary kiddos be healthy and achieve their potential.
Diligence. I come from ancestors who worked hard, lived humbly, and still found time for joy. That leaves an impression. When I work, I pay homage to the Maine guides, boat-builders, mill workers, farm owners, custodians, and educators who sent me on. I rely on their examples of stamina, faith, and commitment to works that inspire humanity’s better angels.
